Why choose Danny Bricknell?

In choosing Danny Bricknell as your lawyer, you can expect the highest levels of personalised, quality service and very best advice for your situation.

His consistently impressive results for clients are founded on proven expertise in his chosen specialties:  elder law and private client advisory.

Danny’s philosophy is to guide clients and deliver effective, practical solutions made to measure for each client’s transaction, issue or problem.

“The better solution to the problem isn’t always a lengthy fight or court case. Firstly I always look for alternatives to court. Unfortunately, in some situations, there isn’t one. However, even in those, there are ways to run a Court case that are effective and practical in order to reduce unnecessary loss of time and expense”.
Danny’s success for his clients and reputation is built on always striving for the best outcome for each client.

Danny’s Professional Background

Danny was admitted to practice in 1985 in New South Wales. He is currently starting his second, three year term as an elected Councillor of the Law Society of NSW.

In recent years Danny has focussed increasingly on elder and private client legal work.

“Working in several different locations during my career has given me the opportunity to assist a range of clients with a diverse range of legal problems and issues – from property transactions and wills through to major court cases. This experience has been invaluable in assisting my clients”

Danny has excellent experience as an advocate.  He regularly represents clients appearing before various courts and tribunals including:

  • Family Court
  • District Court
  • NSW Court of Appeal
  • Guardianship Tribunal of NSW
  • Coroners Court

Some of Danny’s career highlights include:

  • defending a 10 year long defamation case in the New South Wales Supreme Court including an appeal in the High Court of Australia.
  • prosecuting a landmark class action case for 28 households seeking compensation from a local council for developing an environmentally contaminated site for housing. This case was the first of its kind in Australia.
  • representing a client in a prosecution in the Land & Environment Court of NSW regarding illegal dumping of waste
  • representation in a variety of serious criminal prosecutions.

Prior to establishing Bricknell Legal, Danny was a Partner at Osborne Bricknell Howell,  a long established northern suburbs firm, across two decades.  Danny started his professional life as a country lawyer general practitioner in Armidale acting for a wide range of clients throughout the New England district.

“I wanted to operate a legal firm that focused on solutions and practical assistance – advising people how they could solve a problem or achieve the result they wanted, not telling them why they couldn’t.”
